The Best way to see Bermuda is on a Cruise!!

Bermuda is very expensive to fly, stay in a hotel and eat in restaurants. It’s much more economical to go on a cruise. I’ve been to Bermuda five times on Celebrity Cruises. They used to stop in Hamilton and St. George, but the cruise lines have opted to use larger cruise ships, which are to large for these ports. So now they go to King’s Wharf. The advantages of cruising to Bermuda is that all of your meals are paid for. And you can literally eat 24 hours a day! Other cruise lines that go to Bermuda are Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, Carnival and Holland America. I’ve cruised over ten times, mostly on Royal Caribbean and of course Celebrity but also on Carnival Cruises.

I’ll start with Celebrity Cruises. They used to use smaller ships like the Zenith and the Horizon which had a much better itinerary because it stopped in Hamilton for a few days and then went to St. Georges for a few days. From 2007 – 2010 Celebrity no longer provided cruise ships to Bermuda. Now they use much larger ships and stop in King’s Wharf for the entire time. When you are docked in Bermuda, there is no gambling on board.

Royal Caribbean Cruise ships are like cities on water! They are huge and have every activity imaginable. You have restaurants,in addition to the dining rooms that you can eat in. Rock climbing walls, indoor skydiving, bumper cars, surf simulators, circus school and its unique North Star, a jewel-shaped glass capsule rising 300 feet above sea level and providing 360-degree views over the sides of ships in its Quantum Class. Its newest ships flex their muscle with high-tech features such as robotic bartenders, HD-aided whiz-bang entertainment, lightning-fast Internet and virtual balconies featuring real-time views of the ocean and destinations.

When I first started traveling I used to go on Carnival Cruises. They are generally the cheapest way to go, you can visit several islands to get a feel for which islands you like. Generally they cater to the college age crowds mentality. It’s like spring break on water! The food is OK but not great compared to other cruise lines. If you just starting out traveling and want to get as much bang for your buck I’d recommend Carnival Cruises.
